The event, which is organised by our SUNRISE partner Bremen, will take place on 7 July 2021, from 14:30-20:30. The afternoon, which focuses on street space management, is divided into an English and a German part.
Street space: transport, communication, social life, greening, parking, … all at the same time in the same area. Increasingly conflicts arise. Re-allocation of street space might be necessary to support sustainable mobility and climate adaption. How can participation help to moderate between conflicting interests to make street space liveable, functional and ready for the future?
The city of Bremen is one of the partners and demonstration cities of the EU-funded SUNRISE-project and has developed and tested sustainable mobility solutions for a densely populated neighbourhood, with an intense participation process. It is the aim of the event to get inspiration from various European cities and to share lessons learnt.
The event is dedicated to experts from local authorities as well as from NGOs, from research or business community.
The conference is divided into two sessions, targeting both, the European and German perspective:
Session A: 14:30 – 17:00 in English
Session B: 17:30 – 20:30 in German
